Military Sporrans
Military Sporrans
Traditionally, Military Horse Hair Sporrans have been worn by the Scottish Regiments as their "Parade Dress" or formal wear, sometimes worn into battle, but more often sporrans worn into battle were the leather pouch type, as these were more functional.
The horse hair used in these sporrans is trimmed from the tails of horses that are specifically raised for this purpose by Nomadic Tribesmen in Mongolia. This is the Tribesmen's sole source of income. The horses are not harmed by trimming their tails.
This sporran has a black leather cantle with a thistle badge and plain cones. It comes without a pouch on the back, or with a pouch for an extra charge.
They are manufactured in Nova Scotia by L&M Highland outfitters.
